Social networking v/s personal networks

“Happy birthday daddy!, “At the hawaian shack, alive and kicking” or “feeling too low and down”

Most of us know what the above three sentences indicate. We also know what they look like.Proabably, status updates put up popular networking sites like Facebook or my space or the now famous Twitter tweets, popularly called “Tweeting”.

Initially it was just the computer, then came the internet, and now its facebook. Apart from food, clothing and shelter, 2011 would rate Facebook as one human need. We all know how anxious we get to check our wallposts or our status comments. If not ours, then someone else’s. Cell phones already top the list, but “FB” is not far away. It is not surprising to know the amount of people who are a part of social networking sites from different age groups. Starting from as young as 10 yrs old to as old as 80 yrs.

Being a part of these is no harm, but getting too addicted and making it a part of you certainly is. Social networking is not at all a bad thing. You build a network of people and you grow the network. Networking thus help, be it professional or personal life. What could be better, than getting in touch with long lost friends, or being in constant touch with your loved ones and letting them know about your where about or also coming across like minded people who share similar tastes and interests like yours. The most popular sites likes facebook, twitter, my space, and also google+, that has been recently launched, are sites that we love and associate with because they do help us in some way or the other, or also serve as a means of entertainment. They keep us connected with the outgoing world.

Too much of anything in life is not good. Too much salt leaves the food tasteless. The same applies to social networking. Ask yourself when was the last time you picked up your phone and wished your loved one a happy birthday, or had a long chat with your mum or dad about something eventful in your life.

We all do it on something called as “Wallposts”, isn’t it? Not bad. But certainly the same isn’t too great, either. The world has turned digital and personal relationships also seem to be virtual now. You share your day, your thoughts with one another via status updates, or photo sharing. Social networking sites were made with the aim of keeping in touch with your loved ones and meeting people. They aren’t about living your world online and loosing out on relationships that hold so dear to you. Why let something of the least value to you, take over other things that are more precious to you. This is what an overdose of facebook does to you. We find ourselves so engrossed in things that must be of the least importance and at times totally senseless. Checking out some one else’s profile, digging deep to find some gossip in those wallposts, spending time more than required on sending out friend request like the “I want to make Franship with you” types and the like.

What good does all of this do to us? Nothing in this world is ever wrong till exercised in their limits. Like what excess of alcohol does to us.

It’s not only the youth of today who surf these sites. We see mummas, dadas, and also grandparents on these popular sites. It gives immense joy to stay connected with people over seven seas, living long distance away. You share your world with them and update them, and vice versa. However, have you ever given a thought to the ones who you meet everyday and fail to have a decent face to face conversation with? You blog, you scrap, you comment, you tweet, and much more. Everything seems so digital and virtual. Also talking about the number of people we randomly add on to our friends list. The list amuses me. Do we ever acknowledge their presence while we meet them around? Ever smiled and stopped to share some friendly greetings with them? I doubt. None of us do. There must be 500 people on our personal list and sadly we don’t care about them when they just pass us by. What kind of a social relationship are we building upon? Similarly, how often have we allowed such sites to take control over our daily lives, making us ignore and give a blind eye to things that are more important than these?

Social networking sites have their pros and cons. If they make the world small and keep us connected with the rest, they also create barriers. If they help us make new friends beyond boundaries, they also make us take for granted our neighbors. Relationships are taken for granted and things online seem to be a game played.

Lets make these “a part of our world” and not “the world” for us.

In 1998, Kraut et al. showed a correlation between Internet use and declines in social relationships and isolation.Greater use of the Internet was also associated with small, but statistically significant declines in social involvement as measured by communication with the family and the size of people’s local social networks and with increases in loneliness, a psychological state associated with social involvement.

Pocket full of adventures

The Much awaited and planned trip that my best friend Andrea and me planned finally materialized this Novmeber. Its been two long years since the two of us have been talking about going to Mangalore and spending a while there.
Mangalore has always been a beautiful heavenly paradise for me. Always loved going there when I was a little child, and staying there for at least a month. My grandparents live there and few of my relatives. Used to cry to come back to Mumbai. That place was Peaceful and so heavenly.Hwever, with time my liking towards heaven changed into hell and I detested going there for personal reasons. And it was almost four long years that I hadn’t been there, though my folks still continued paying visits there.
And then it was Andy who used to have a lot of fun there and I kept hearing of all of that and the way she described it was something even I was eagerly waiting to experience. Both of us used to go for our regular long walks and discuss, plan this trip and kept laughing after every conversation, cuz nothing was sure and felt we were just building castles in the air.
And then…I was done with the SEM V board exams this October and came there my vacation time, but for my Andy baby it was a month of study holiday and her Boards began real late. And by now…we kind of lost hopes that this trip would come true, but still kept talking of it. And finally. Her exams began when my college re-opened, and we decided we’ll take it ahead. And When she was studying hard for her papers, I was busy goggling trains, time schedules that would lead us to our destination. I know how much I disturbed her:L Finally we kept a date in mind and said come what may, we’ go. None, none believed us. Not my folks, nor hers. All were of the opinion that we’ve been telling them about going and never ever went. And thus we kept our fingers crossed and hoped that the ticket waiting list falls down and we get a seat and just get away. And till the end time, we dint discuss our plans with any one…Kept it to ourselves. What if it turned Kaput?
Finally came the much awaited day, but still our tickets were NOT confirmed, and we called each other the same Morning and asked ‘What should we do’? And then both decided, wteva, a seat dsnt matter much, wel crawl, sit on the door, and what not, but still go..Hehehe.And our people at home, just wondered what craze was this. And we were so very excited about the same thought.Haha..The NO CONFIRMED SEAT.
And we left like around 2-3 hours early than the train timing..HAha…and there began the Pocket full of Adventures..
We had to board our train from Kurla terminus. Two little ones..Hehehe...With two big bags..OMG...Just too much u c…So we waited at the ladies compt and there came a train..Damn..It was crowded, and was impossible to get in (haha…Sorry. but we dint even try getting in)…Guess why. Cause next to that there was an empty compartment that both of us shortys had noticed..lolz.hahaha….and no. it wasn’t the luggage…It was the Handicap compartment.Hahaha….And nothing could Stop us from entering that. Happily we entered and stood and noticed people around. None looked like physically challenged to us. And there was ample place around and we said lets go and sit. So much place you see…And we did that and smiled around till an old moron chucked us out at Andheri..:;sob sob: And we showed as if v weren’t aware that it was an Handicap compartment, and smiled and walked out.Damn..Hahahaa…And took the crowded ladies. Quick, wasn’t that? a we managed to enter.
Finally when we reached the terminus, we hoped, crossed our fingers that our seats were confirmed. And yeah..One was. Which meant we just had one seat and would have to adjust.Heheh…We were happy. And we sat there on that station. Reached two hours early. People around must have thought of us as sum run away Juvenilles...hehe.And finally came our Mastyaghanda and wHooo….we kept talking of all the past planned talks sitting in front of that train.Didnt want to enter so soon and so waited out. Got in after some time and taught we would bribe the TC and get a ticket later. Got our seats and watched around. And time after, the train left in motion and we just could believe the fact we were actually going to Mangalore and the Plan had worked. just kept talking of it. And sad to know people around us were all so snobbish.shhesh..Thought we would strike conversations with the ones around us and make it a nice fun filled journey. But Alas. Those around us were…Damn...We smiled at so many and none did that to us. Andy and me assumed that there was something wrong with us at that point. May be we looked like some clowns and those around dint want to smile at the clowns. And we two enjoyed our journey, not bored at all. Adjusted our asses on that one seat, and that salla TC dint give us a seat.Ya we dint show him anything that we had inside//..I meant CASh..Hahah
But all seemed so much fun, we dint crib about anything..
Reached Mangalore at early dawn, an hr earlier than the time supposed to reach. And then realized the ones we were trying to get to weren’t receiving our calls. Ya they were sleeping with the alarm scheduled to ring much later. And we got outta the train, and giggled around and smiled at few people. Darkness engulfed the place and a cool breeze swept thru my skin. Wow…Haha.we really dint knows what to do and jus walked to and fro.We dint know the way home. ways...we just decided to take a Rick and told him sum shit and he nodded and then kept calling home till some1 finally did attend our call.Ahhh…And the place was jus 10 minute distance from station and then we stopped and got ouuta the rick that Anna charged us 60 bucks and we were like WTF…And later we were made aware that the fare to that place from station was just 15bucks..Advernterous…Aint it?
Now we were finally in Mangalore, finally in the rite place and every1 around us was merry to have us.Ya at least they looked fine..Hahaha…
Enjoyed the week hanging out, visiting places, and travellling all by our selves like sum foreigners who weren’t aware of the Language and people looked at us like as if we were sum Anti-social elements .Took Andy to my side. I stay in typical rural side. Its just so beautiful.Open huge cottages, all around green pastures and animal grazing, Plantations, kacha roads, hilly and streams gushing….Just so heavenly. Showed her my side, my folks…Just stayed there for a day and two and cam back to the city.
I pity those Firangis who reside in our country. We managed to reach right destinations, talking in broken English for people to understand.Couldnt use our vocals there. Andy I learnt was a good planner and she planned the week well.
Just used to b back home to rest a while in the nite, the day spent in sight seeing..Haha…
Mind you, I’ve been to Mangalore loads time.
Finally the day arrived when we realized that our trip has come to an end, and it time to get back to Mumbai. But obvious, we both dint want to go back. And it was in the eveing, we realized that our tickets have been booked but not confirmed and more than that…hahah…They weren’t in our hand..Lolz.And that was Manglore.though developed still not like Mumbai. Thus began our hunt for a cyber café and finally when we got one, and checked our tickets we were shocked when we realized that our waiting list was much much more than what it was when we came to manglore. Now it was certain that None of the tickets would be confirmed: pewww:: The cyber proved crap as we just couldn’t get our tickets printed and started hunting for some other place and finally got the thing done. a…..Looked at that ticket and jus giggled….Hahaha..Back to Bombay w/o a seat..Damn…and that was our last nit ether in manglore. And Andy’s cousins made sure we had the best of fun that nite. And we went roaming and zooming in their vehicles with music blasting in and reached sum haunted premises. The drive was soo much fun ,zig- zag roads, steep hills, cliffs that you feared….wow….I just loved it all.
Hmmm…Just like All good things have to come to and, was this Joy ride as well as our trip, and came the day where we sat packed our luggage and eve around 30-50 coconuts to carry back home.Souveneirs for Mumbai..hahaha.Yeah yeah for the two of us…hahaha..dont ask how we managed it, but we did…Sad faces, hopes to be back there, have the same fun or more fun, just me and Andy again…random thoughts hit my head…I had enjoyed each day there…Much more than what I would with my own folks…
Anyways…..The best part of this entire trip was our Journey back to Mumbai. No seats confirmed, we got into the Ladies general compartment..Hahaha..Me on a 3rd seat with my love on a 4th seat..Yaya..Shes the one who always compromises, adjusts..Damn me…And wow…..the Journey was fun. Trust me….we had a hell of a time. We just did not crib a single time, it was so uncomfortable, with stinky, stupid, uncouth, idiotic, uncivilized morons, travelers all around. Sitting below u, above you, on you, just everywhere. We just laughed and giggled and our comments just added to it. We witnessed dirty fights, arguments, heard slang spoken by ladies that we very heard even in Mumabi. There were firangis in our general compt and we seen them been the center of attraction, source of amusement for so many. And pathetic and disgusting eyes of men rolling all over those two cuties and dirty remarks being passed when they got out at few stations. Felt like just digging into their eye balls and handing it to them…The journey was not all that we expected it to be, it just turned to be whatever we did not. Its how you enjoy, how you see things….And we took this in good spirits..…And I will never regret comin back In that ladies overfilled general compartment.
And yeah…We reached Mumbai, back home 5 hours late than the expected arrival time…
Our bag full of adventures ended too, Smile, think, giggle when I think of that one week in manGloore…cheers

Variety is the spice of life

Imagine!!!Imagine living in a world where each one you meet is a person who could be termed as a “Good person”, a “Good Human”…All around you, you come across the best beings, with no flaws in them, no limitations, nothing. They are the ideal people you meet and you can just see no bad qualities in them. There is nothing to grumble about them, nothing that turns you off about them…You feel they the best and the bestest they can ever be. Each and every move of theirs is a WOW..Their actions, deeds, and thoughts…All Perfect. Perfect to the "T"….Imagine….
No flirts, no snobs, no egoistic people…No hurts. No worries. No setbacks.

Nothing. everything seems so Ideal in that world...You could be the Imperfect one, but No…around you are all those who make your universe seem perfect..Ideal...They don’t back stab  they don’t bitch. They don’t argue, they don’t speak slander…They are Good…Just Good….Hmmm……U talk about them, they don’t say anything. They don’t even hurt you.Damn!!! You living in a world, where you just smile and each day brings you more smiles. No tears, no bad experiences. After all Its us who make Experiences. Make Memories. Good or Bad..We make them all.But since this imaginary world consists of all Goody good people…No grey shade at all. Its Juts good!
Too much goodnesss...n too much of everything......
Sat and ponderd upon my thoughts a day a while n realized ...Life would be bland...No spice...Nothing.....Asked my self would I want to live in such a world????
I wouldn’t…Nope…TOO much of everything is not good.Too much of goodness in and around you is too much to take. It would b vacuum feel life would be colorless.Shades of Black n White...Monotony.I would be sitting and thinking NOTHING. My mind would be idle…Life would be nothing but just a calendar of events that I guess one would not even bother remembering.  Life in ONE expression…Good and Perfect..No varied expressions at all. Everything would happen according to what we expected. No twists and no turns.Just walk and walk the straight long path. Many a times, when you come across these few people in life, who keep talking so much good about you or say each you up on a pedestal by just praising you more and more. It kinda feels very weird, as you wonder is it genuine or no??It kills even the little genuineness you have in yourself. Would there be anything as LEARNING experience. Nothing to contemplate upon. All praises, and rosy words..

Learnt it....wen I crib about the turmoils and difficulties of my life and things that put me down, leave me in tears and hurt me so bad....The worst the best for me.Each day one I look back to the times I fell, I smile...My falls made me strong and  peoples passing remark and rude comments opend my eye....

Never again to say..I wanna live in a world full of roses..A thorn made me strong..and what I am...I cuz of that little thorn that pricked me hard...

Nobody's life is filled with perfect little moments. And if it were, they wouldn't be perfect little moments. They would just be normal. How would you ever know happiness if you never experience downs?”

My Big Magic Umbrella

This is a story about my magic umbrella, which has done everything but magic, but I stil prefer calling it a "Magic umbrella" and I dint know wt its going to o next…..My magic umbrella has been a big disaster, and forget causing nuisance to others, it had caused its owner pain, grief, embarrassment and what not..
And it still hangs here among the other umbrellas in my house and I stil want to carry it everyday. All I hope is that it doesn’t create another history…..

I purchased my big red Umbrella from Crawford makrekt.Well, going to Crawford to purchase an umbrella was all my idea, for the fact that you get stuff priced at really cheap rates there. And yes..Thts wt I wanted..A umbrella priced cheap to last me just this monsoon.. None of my good branded umbrellas have ever lasted for more than a year, more than 4 showers of the same monsoon.. (to be precise.).lolz..So this time I decided, Il do some justice at home and buy something at a lesser price than my usual expensive ones and not bother when this dies out...HAhaha…So when all of us went shoppy shoppy, looking for my umbrella, my folks made sure its the Big one that I wanted, a colorful one, big handle and something not that costly…
Hunting hunting, we finally found something. Though in the start I dint even want to buy that, cuz it was not colorful, a solid coat of maroon and important… it looked smaller than what I wanted …No I dnt expect a beach umbrella, but ya I wanted something. Somewhat sized like it..Hahah..ok..ok..But however my ppl shut my mouth saying, that the other umbrellas was bigger than my size so I should just stick to this one. And handling me and my umbrella for them, seems not easy..wtever..
.Alas…I got it home…Yeah..My big maroon Umbrella… Jus wished u were a little bigger that what u are)..hehehe..

Hmmm… I dnt know this umbrella was not meant for me.(realizing it each day now).lolz…It made its owner feel all that she doesn’t deserve to feel. I told my mom, about her( my umbrella) and assured her that yeah it wuld last for this monsoon, and she questioned me back asking “If I was sure”? And I confidently told her, yeah it surely would. I purchased it for one season u c..it surely wuld last , whts the deal??
And the Adventures of my Big Magic Umbrella begin:
Day1: The next day after I brought it home. I was bored and there was nothing to do..A brat that I am, I opened my umbrella…N walked in an out with it..Wow..soo cool..…Yeah..catwalk..How would my umbrella look?, How big is it?(pretty big, I answered),and does it go with my floral rainy footwear that I purchased few days back?....Rite…all my demos were on…
Opened it so many times and shut it.The feeling was nice..Practing for the rainy day. And finally opened it again. And ouch …Noticed that one stick was out: sob sob…Ghosh...i felt so crappy… (But m smart. I blamed the quality of these cheap things)..Hahaa….Sad case.Indoors, without using it out at all, purchased yesterday and broke it today….Do you have to say thing on that? My frnds made me feel so NOT nice the next day……All bhasans of me crossing limits of my not handling things and bal blab la..Hahahaa
Day2: I reached bandra station in the morning, and seen my friends waiting down for me. Walked nicely in style with my big magic umbrella. And waved to them a chiry hie...Yes with my big umbrella swaying in my hand. Not realizing, that there were 10 people walking in front of me…And magic. the front portion of my umbrella ( The pointed thingy) pokes this lady in front of me real hard. And wow. Clueless about it. I take a step ahead and she hits me so hard on the station in front of God knows How many people and I turn back So may faces all looking at me( embarrassed. totally)…hahaha..Riite..This is what I do..Hahahahaa…instead of saying a sorry (I was unaware that my umbrella hit her ok...But did realize it by then)..I laughed on her face...Soory..But I found it amusing. The way I said a hie and the next moment that Hit…(folks say the sound. Thud was pretty loud)...Hhaah...N too ad to it.. Wow. My dear friends. They tel me, I should have hit that women back and given her some ghallis. They were like Hit her. Hit her...n I was Laughing..(Funny na)..Nope..it was al my fault and I couldn’t dream of doing that. But that lady did hit me real hard..M sorry aunty…hahah…..N the day goes again. With my folks making fun of me and my tragedy queen and how I dnt retaliate to that lady…I dnt find it rite to do that, I am a Big fighter cork but I shuup for once. I was sure my umbrella hit her real hard…
Day3: It happens to be a nice rainy day and we end early with our lectures. From the start of college, ive been requesting my friends to tag along to bandstand to enjoy the beautiful weather. And so that day, they were fine.Nyways, like always it was just 3 of us who landed there. And wow…I was enjoying every moment of my time there. It was breezy, raining and I loved the rain drops on my head…slpish splash….And to my amazement, we could even see couples having the best of their time under their Umbrellas...Hahaha...Felt like giving them my Big umbrella too. Good I dnt, u never know what it would end up being. So we enjoyed our time there, did a lil bit of Photography, walked the strech..And finally decided it was time we left the place. So we came out and stood and the bus stop waiting for a bus. I was on a cal, when the bus arrived. The bus stopped, my frnds got in.And I was the last one to get in. Was on the phone still and Guess what…??Hahah..My big Magic Umbrella slips outta my hand and falls out and the bus begins moving. And the next thing I do I Jump outta the running bus backwards to pick my umbrella, and in the background I hear the conductor giving sum ghaalis...Hahaha...M outta the bus and bye bye. The bus dnt wait for me. It carried my frnds and left away: sob sob: I stood back with my big magic umbrella waiting for the next bus clutched to myself.
Day 4: Suprising...Nothing Happens
Day 5: It’s a Sunday…

Day6 :( today) 1st July: After a good tasty yummy Gelato, we reach Bandra station. We met a frnd of ours after a long time. This guy happens to be my real close frnd and he knew about me shopping for my umbrella and my need for a BIG umbrella. So we were just debating upon the fact of how more big it culd have been and stuff. N one of my pal was making some fun of my big umbrella, and v both ended catching the sides and pulling it..Hahaha..I was enjoying it..:; winks:: and v were pulling it really hard K..And suddenly she leaves it..And yieepe..The feeling in me was great. I thought I won. And she would fall. And then I turned and …..
Hahhaha…The Handle was in her hand…Shocked…No I wasn’t. Magical U c..Hhahhaa….N then v all laughed about it and I shamelessly went on n on. And then told me to b ready for my Mamas noise at home..Lolz…I fixed that thing before I could reach my home. Now, it looks fine to me..

And there hangs my umbrella with the other ones….A new day, anew incident for toomoro..Dont know what awaits..

Xaviers v/s Andrews..

“So fast the years pass”….Is the statement that I have been uttering really often these past few days……
So true... So fast…Time runs and waits for none…Hold on to that moment, cherish it, enkindle it...cuz there isn’t going to be anything like that in the near future…The worst u say or the best…Nothing like it.
How I wish I could hold on to time and wish time turn back things... But life is such… do what u want to. Live the best...Cuz Ur today can never be your tomorrow...How often have I sat back and actually wondered if I would ever get to see and do all that I did yesterday. Will my tomorrow be the shadow of yesterday…Hmmm don’t know…..Miss my school days so much.U think ill ever go to school again in my red line uniform, with those two plated pony, sit on those same benches, meet the same folks I met then…..Hahahaa..U know the answer to it…I would never be able to experience that ever day...Hmmm Live today….
In my last year of college now at St.Andrews, Bandra.I really find it difficult to believe that I AM in the THIRD YEAR…TYBMM...Hahaha... and so do people around me. They go like “Ohh U in the TY..Mymymy” OR “Kitni Badi hogayi. hai..Bache kitne Jaldi Badee ho jaate hai” OR “U don’t look like a TY.”...HAHAHAH…wteva….I hate the latter..Cuz the end up saying I look really small and many of my other TY folks look elder to me and what not. Direct reference to my Height… Nways
Yup….Its the month of June now…a Board in October and the next one in March 2010..Done…Done…..God..IL be done with my college. A graduate I will be soon, in span of just few months……I’ve been thinking so much about my yesteryears. How I got into college….Came my SSC results, remember dad giving me a cell phone just before my SSC results could be announced. (Now the cell phone is my basic need along with my food, clothing and shelter..Lolz) then came the Final result day. So many calls on that cell, so many ppl asking me my results...Hahah...so many advices..Wt to do, where to go and what not…I was actually clueless about Wt College would be like. Though I have a sis whose 6 yrs elder to me, she didn’t share much about her college days at home.(N if u sit home for a single day, You can hear me yapping, gossiping so much about my college hours..Yeah is it Andrews. I have so much to cum back and share. But sis never did that) Remember.dad telling me St.Xavier’s is the best. Since sis studied there, and he had his music co-ordination recording work at sum studio in Xavier’s, he liked that place and suggested, I should go there. Mum felt traveling wouldn’t be al that pleasant, so better take a college next to home..Hhahaaa..Hillarious…But. I was all ready for it…no jokes…. (Thank God I aint there now. Mum would reach there, the time she realized lectures were over long ago n m still not home: winks:J
Running around for forms, form submission, Interviews, crazy encounters.Hmmm….Finally go in at ST. Xavier’s …The time that I had a total overlook of that place was during my admission time (Interview)……Freak it scared me totally. Made me so nervous and even skeptical about spending 5 yrs there (who knew I had to leave that place so soon)
Forget the BEAUTIFUL PLACE that it really is (Xavier’s is amazingly beautiful, the infrastructure, the chapel, the greenery around...God I have so much to talk about that place. I wish so much)...Nways...during that overlook that I am referring too…I landed up in the foyer for sum reason with my mum. I guess, it was that we were hungry and wanted to eat…GOD…and the sight of FEW people ther, shocked me…Me an innocent child u c, jus outta a Covenant school( to be precise GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL)…hahaa..N the sight of ladka and Ladki all sitting so coolly on one bench and eating and few sleeping on benches… (Yayay…no jokes...Cum to xaviers...ul be a witness to it…now and forever.).. I wondered then dint their Teachers tell them anything/ or don’t they have forgotten their basic manners at home?, Whose inside the so called CLASSROOM if so many were here. Is this the Recess time? And blab la… funny Na...But these thoughts did pop up in my mind. There were so many not pleasant thoughts in my mind…Would I ever fit in that place? There were so many colored hair chicks, with so many piercing and what not…I watched carefully…
I remember, coming home that day and just thinking of about shifting colleges... No ways... Me going there. All weirdoes’s in that so called ST.Xaviers…
Nways….Wteva were my thoughts and wteva my mum had to say about the distance, It all proved me wrong and true. I did spend two of my best years in Xavier’s….The best…Love Xaviers...Love everything about it…Sad..Im not there this moment...Hmmm….Nways...Andrews aint all that bad ( I did make a big big hype about it, and still keep doing it( It surely It nothing compared to Xaviers..Including the Girls Toilets...Yuck...Shame shame Andrews…Our toilets are like BMC toilters..Hahhaa…and are canteen.. M sure my folks know, that I referred to it as a “Tabela”.in my First year of Degree college...Nwys…Now it’s not that any more. Its called “café Ander’e’ and its nice...Hmm and so many things…whenever I thought about Xavier’s sitting in Andrews, never ever felt really great. Have so much of a vengeance for the fact that the bloody CET got cancelled during my year and admins were based on merit..Ya...Not guarantying I would still be there but still the fact remains the same. I missed Xavier’s, I still miss and will always miss. Dunnno Y...enjoyed every bit of my time there, Met the best of friends there, learnt the best of lessons there too..HAhahah...Actually I did. .Spent just two years. only two still will always feel attached there. The foyer,, the canteen, woods, The Terrace classrooms, LR21-22(my Jc classrooms), Malhar, security, Christmas carol singing, My cute crushes(::winks), the pink color Barbie toilets, the sandwich uncle outside and yeah…The superior family of which I was Baby inferior…loved it all..……….Each of these have beautiful memories attached to it…And rite…"Memories are the Best souvenirs" and I’ve carried my souviers along with me as I walk life’s jounerey…Love the friends I made there. Few were weird though. But stil..They made me smile, they thought me to be weird and unusual...Lifes fun that way... Scraps the monotony of life..

Now that I am in Andrews, I’ve had the best of times here also. But one thing I really dislike about myself is I’ve been a suck up for the last two years. Instead of enjoying moments there and admiring the little good I could se in that place, I always compared it to Xavier’s and cribbed about the fact life was better there. It was indeed beautiful here too. Met new friends, whom I owe a lot too, have my best buddy in my next classroom, and so many other things. The other day I met my really good frnd who I met when I was in my FY in Xavier’s and she was there till her SYBA and now is in Wilsons.I expected her to be sad and grumpy about the fact that she had to move outta Xavier’s for the last year. And to my surprise she was like She enjoyed the new place more than what she did in Xavier’s for the last 4years..Funny though. But she told me she dnt miss that place at all. Wow….I was so happy she wasn’t a bore like me..Hhehehe….Time passes so fast and outta college soon…Andrews also has been a beautiful experience .In a class of 61 students, in the start it was crappy, now it’s a better scene. A lot of groupism..BMM makes one that way…In the first year, I perceived so many as being wanna-be’s, yeah n few of them still continue to be. But they al my friends now, and I’ve enjoyed with them. Getting caught during lectures, and been thrown outta classroom (with few stupid remarks by profs-so many times), and so many other incidents. Wow…I don’t regret anything. At the end of the day, ive laughed about it and still continue to do..Hahaha…The dean of college looks like sum Booth to me. I always describe him as the Bhooth from Aahat-the horror show..Haha..I really get scared of him, and run away wen he’s around. This is all so much fun ya..And ive done a lot lot of Masti in college here…A lot…Wolf whistling in class and getting few boys caught, throwing paper balls and escaping and worst….Yeah take a lot of risk in doing al this..hehee
I have few months to go now. All I wanna do is make the best of wteva is to come. Study well, work hard, not crib anymore, enjoy each and every moment. I believe, I need to make the best of today to make my tommro beautiful. And ill do it…
Life is all about experiencing the best surprise and the worst tradegy…!!!

Somebodys child!!!

The Child I kept dreaming about

Done for the day, we walked out of college. Fooling around, giggling on our non- sensible jokes, and wolf whistling around.Ghossping about somebody and cribbing about why someone hasn’t come …Hmm……..Our everyday walk.
As we reached the college gate, we noticed a big crowd of college youth gathered around with heads bend watching something, chatting, talking….we wondered, what it was and what could it be.Yeah inquisitive birds that we are. We pushed our selves in the crowd and watched what the scene was. O.k. seller selling something….
A couple dressed in a Rajasthani wardrobe making chains of different colorful letters. A Creative technique. So many youth around. All of them demanding their chains to be made quick, this alphabet with this colour, this string with that word..heheh…The couple I am sure, made a good heavy business that afternnon. Even Shamu and Chrysel waited to get their name chain done. I wanted to make one too. But I realized Andy had already made one for me. She met us out as we were waiting and showed me that. She got it done a day back. How cool! Thanks Andy. I just waited and watched my other folk’s get their stuff done. Impressive it was.
On a large mat on the floor, colorful lettered beads around, colorful strings, a candle and something moe that I can’t recall.
The weather was hot and the number of people increased. I got out from that small gathering and walked ahead to wait for them in a place I could breath propely. As I jus walked few steps ahead something caught my eyes…A sight that I still think of this day. A creation I so felt attached too and just wanted to hold on too. Something amazed me about that little thing.
It was nothing but a baby. A baby boy. I guess who would be around 12-14 months old. Dressed in a red shirt, snort rolling down his cute little nose. Chubby and adorable he was…He sat there on the ground and I realized not only me but there were other students also waving to him and walking away. Somebody’s Child he was... Don’t know what happened to me, but I fell in love with that child. Something drew me real close to him. I wanted to hug him tight and actually get him home with me. Stood there and just watched him. He wasn’t alone there, he had his sister sitting just next to him and wondering who this mad lady was. Standing in front of him, I started making all those funny noises that one usually makes to capture the attention of a little child. Awww..But that child was extraordinarily brillainat..He smiled at me and kept smiling. His cheeks though not rosy red still so enchanting. I forgot about Shamu, Harshu, Chrysel all of them. Just felt very attached to that child. I asked that babys sister what would he eat. And she answered me saying Chocolate...Hmmm …chocolate. I was sure she spoke for herself and not for my little baby. But that little one had not a single tooth.Yeah he really dnt have…By now I was down, just about to be on bended knees and I noticed he dnt have any. .So I wondered…..I went across and got a pack of Parle biscuits and I handed it to the girl. I told her to break it into little pieces and feed it to him. I gave her the pack and she just kept it.. I kept on telling her to open it and start feeding him. She looked at him with that dirty look as if she wanted to tell me, U need not feed him, and get me something better than this pack of silly biscuits. I was getting so fried up. That child kept on looking at me. He smiled…He had the pack in his mouth now, was chewing on it. I wanted to get it out and open it up. But couldn’t do so. I was enjoying every minute of my encounter with that baby. Chubby and cute he was. A cherubic smile on his face. Not bothered of what life has in stored for him tomomro..Smiling and just capturing attention.
Finally, my folks got their chain done and they walked ahead. And they saw me with that little one. A he did capture their attentions too, but again for me this child wasn’t just another street kid I seen. He seemed to be something totally amazing and beautiful. They asked me to hurry up but I dnt want to leave him at all. Wanted to cuddle him in my arms and get him home.My little baby brother I would tell my ma... At the same time wanted to slap his sister for not feeding him. Selfish kid that I am. Clicked cute pictures of that baby making passers by wonder...Awwwww….Felt like putting him a black kajal on his forehead, cheeks, everytwhere...no evil eye to be cast on him. He was truly a wonderful creation.
We began our everyday walk to station. And I kept discussing that child, thinking about it. I reached home and he was still on my mind. I have no clue what was it that made me feel so attached to him. I dnt want to know it either. I was just too happy being around that child and watching him. I thought of him the nite I went to sleep and hoped to seem him the next day.
Morning came and we reached college.Nahh he wasn’t there and I made a mention of it to my folks. They say maybe in the afternoon. I hoped. Lectures ended and out we came...
My angel. My teddy. That child was there…..he was dressed in the same red shirt, no pants…awwww….Hamm…with a leaf in his hand that he chewed upon…
I stood there for sometime….I missed seeing him on the 1st day that he was there, when Andy got the chain done. I wondered where I was then. A 2nd day of my meet with that baby boy…..I stood the same place. I watched the same smile……

And walked away…
